KPI Models

KPI models describe how key performance indicators are calculated from logs. They link technical measurement data to production-related decisions.

Typical key figures:

  • **** Output: Number of parts produced during a given period.
  • **** Quality: The ratio of good parts to rework and scrap.
  • **** cycle time: average, minimum, or maximum machining time.
  • **** Availability: The proportion of productive or available time.
  • **** Performance: The ratio of actual performance to the target or cycle time.
  • OEE (): A combination of availability, performance, and quality.

Every metric requires a clear data source. An OEE metric can only be interpreted if it is specified which conditions are considered downtime, which times are scheduled, and which quality values are rated as good or bad.

A proven approach is to use one KPI model per asset model. It defines data sources, filters, target values, groupings, and display logic.
